Next Miss Kenya in the Making in Gathirimu Girls


A new Miss Gathirimu Girls was crowned on Saturday in front of a capacity crowd at Gathirimu School.
The 15-year-old, Monica Njoki, beat out the rest of the top ten finalists and took home the title of Miss Gathirimu 2012, which will see her spearhead the founding aspect of the Miss Gathirimu – beauty with a purpose – and also see her compete in the coming Hottest Insyder Beauty contest this year.
The magnificently lit auditorium went dead silent.Over ten girls were on the podium waiting for the judges’ verdict. In their regalia-creatively designed by fellow students from available resources from within the school left the crowd cheering on and on… Aside from the coveted title of Miss Gathirimu, Monicah Njoki also took home winning prices from Mt Kenya University; Insyder crew awards as the super hyped crowd cheered on their winner Njoki who couldn’t help hold tears of joy.
Mrs Githinji, arts/drama director Gathirimu Girls, hopes to continue to grow the brand in Kenya and also transform the negative stereotypes of beauty pageants in the country.
“This is the first time that we have the reigning Miss Insyder and her national counterparts join us in Miss Gathirimu.  This is a cornerstone in Miss Gathirimu history, and shows our dedication to continue to grow the franchise.” Speaking to Troop Succeed Unit Crew on the eventualities
Monica Njoki during her reign as Miss Gathirimu 2012 hopes to fight drug abuse and trafficking in the country through partnerships with government bodies and international organizations in celebrating and showing love to all. Dressed by fellow student in her KIWI outfit that would see her pursue a Kiwi advert left us a gaping for a return in one of the finest High School event attended by Kenya's top gospel singer DK (furi furi dance), HopeKid, Kizo B, Trapee, Pin Boy, Tukiez (Paul),MCBruce,Cyrile Hoodz, KTN editor Jimmy Kimata and many more who rocked the show. Martin Nyakabete Kenya’s finest promising actor with his artistic peace,”the real woman” closed the curtain of the events.
