Why Bungoma High School might be banned from this year's prestigious Kenya National Drama Festival

There was furore outcry at the just concluded Bungoma County drama festivals as students from Bungoma High School were spotted drinking alcohol and using Marijuana among other stimulants. The students who made headlines this week for engaging their counterparts from Kibabii in bare knuckle wars during the KCSE results celebration were found enjoying the booze while puffing on marijuana with reckless abandon. The commodities were delivered to the students by their Narrative director as a way of making them relax after a busy county festivals. The students were apprehended and handed over to their patron "Mkia Wa Kenge " but were let go after some chitchat with the patron. It is not yet clear if the county drama officials will take further action against the school. A trainer who spoke to us on condition of Anonymity said
" It is shaming and brings disrepute to the festival CCAWA and the Ministry should act fast"
It is believed that it is not the first time the students from the school are displaying this kind of behavior. It was ironic as schools had items on drug and substance abuse at the same festival but with such displays from students the festival risks being brought to disrepute. Our efforts to contact the drama officials in the county bore no fruits as our calls went unanswered.
